Dhoot family's Videocon has run into troubled waters with objections being raised on the transfer of over 250 acres of prime land at throwaway prices.
The land was allegedly given to manufacture an LCD plant. However, it is a wonder how such a large chunk of land is required for just an LCD plant that requires just a few acres. The land currently belongs to City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO).
The plot is worth over Rs. 3,000 crores but was given to Videocon at just Rs. 300 crores.
